This is a short video I initially created for Instagram that shows a very basic demonstration of printing a photo polymer plate on an etching press. The lettering and fonts for this "Quit Slackin" plate were hand designed, scanned and sent to Boxcar Press to be processed into a polymer plate. I am using a special cardboard frame to ink the plate quickly and accurately without getting ink on the actual press bed. This frame keeps the brayer at the exact height of the plates surface, allowing for the ink to just kiss the surface of the plate. This specific frame has a window near one edge that the small metal tab buttons fit under while inking. I am using a registration system called the "Ternes Burton" tab system. I will leave a link below. The paper stock is Crane's Lettra 110lb 100% cotton paper. It takes a very deep impression while maintaining the crisp details in the plate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Registration Tabs system : http://www.ternesburton.com/register-... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These 5x7in. prints are available in our Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SpoffordPress ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Instagram : / ericvonzip ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can find tons of information, blog posts, and photos of our prints and engravings at: http://www.spoffordpress.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music: Howling- Gunnar Olsen
