How is Automation Really Affecting the Labor Market?

On September 12th, 2022, the Block Center for Technology and Society convened a panel of experts to discuss the spread of automation and its ongoing impacts on the labor market. The panel is comprised of three distinguished experts who bring a diverse set of perspectives from government, business, and academia on the questions to be addressed: what official statistics tell us about the spread of automation, what we can learn from job and business data about how automation is changing the opportunities available to workers, and whether tech-driven changes in the labor market demand new policies to protect or re-skill workers.
