The Jingle Dress was created a century ago from the dream of a concerned father in the midst of a pandemic as a way to heal. Now, 100 years later after another dream, it's being used to heal again. Navajo photographer Eugene Tapahe had a dream at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, shortly after the death of his aunt. At a time of uncertainty and pain, he dreamed he was in Yellowstone National Park, watching the Bison graze in the light of the setting sun. Then he started to hear a jingle. That's how The Jingle Dress Project was started, and now, with more than 25,000 miles under their belts, and more planned. This project to use art to heal the land, and heal the people has gathered a global audience and drawn attention to Native issues.
