Have you ever wondered how to really help the homeless? When it seems like money, food, housing, jobs, and opportunities are so available, what keeps a person experiencing homelessness on the streets for so long? Many think the reasons are for substance abuse or laziness, but the deepest reason is something else: despair. After struggling for so long on the streets, those who experience chronic homelessness have given up on a better life. They feel abandoned by society and have lost reason to hope. Christ in the City seeks to restore this hope by offering something that which has been most neglected: love. Christ in the City is a Catholic formation program for college-aged young adults who desire to be missionaries for life. Through intense prayer, studies, and community life, missionaries are equipped to transform the world according to the Gospel, and it this mission begins with the chronically homeless.
