Nuh Violence: Internet Suspended Till August 8, Police Intensifies Probe Into Haryana Riots

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has ordered a probe into the viral video wherein the inspector of CID claimed that he had shared the input about the recent violence with the top officials well in time. Vij on Saturday said that he did not have any prior information about a possible build-up of communal tensions that ensued in the state and Nuh, the epicentre of clashes, on July 31. An investigation has been ordered into the claims of a CID official who said that he had alerted the authorities about a possible clash in Nuh. He said the officials were aware of the procession and that it may clash with members of another community. In fact, speaking to a reporter, CID inspector Vishwajit even said that he was aware that members of the religious procession would resort to sloganeering and would take out swords. Upon being asked if the "specific information" was handed out to the Haryana government, he said, "We give everything to the government."
