THE REAL TALK: 3 Things Nobody Tells You About Moving to Australia 🇦🇺💔 Today’s video is a bit of a gear shift. We’ve had some incredible highs recently, getting our Permanent Residency, the shipping finally arriving, and exploring the Hinterland, but we wanted to pull back the curtain. Moving across the world isn’t always a highlight reel. It’s a massive mental shift, and we wanted to bring it down a level and speak about the things that often get left out of the "dream life" vlogs. 1. The Reality of Loneliness 😔 The "honeymoon phase" is real, but eventually, it starts to settle. Even when you’re surrounded by beautiful beaches, the feeling of loneliness can creep in. You realize that while you’re building a new life, your "old" life is continuing without you. It’s that realization that you can’t just pop over to a mate’s house for a cuppa or have Sunday dinner with the family. Building a community from scratch takes time and a lot of emotional energy. 2. The Time Difference Tug-of-War ⏰🕰️ The 10-to-11-hour time difference between the UK and the Gold Coast is one of the hardest things to juggle. You’re constantly living in two time zones, waking up to a flood of messages from home when everyone there is going to bed, or wanting to share big news but having to wait 8 hours for anyone to wake up. It makes you feel like you’re always "out of sync" with the people you love most. 3. Tackling Problems Without a Safety Net 🛠️🧱 Back home, if something went wrong, the car broke down, a bill was confusing, or you just had a bad day, you had a lifetime of "people" to call. Here, you’re the first and last line of defense. Every problem, big or small, has to be tackled by you. It’s a fast-track way to grow up, but it can be incredibly draining when you’re already exhausted from the move itself. A Note to Anyone Watching: If you’re feeling this way, know that you aren’t alone. It’s okay to love your new life and still miss your old one. Authenticity is just as important as the adventure. ❤️ 👇 Let's Talk About It. Like, Subscribe, and Comment. We wanted to be real with you guys because we know many of you are planning your own moves.
