My take on the best 'drill thoughts' (think: swing thoughts) as you move through the one leg drill progression. This new way of structuring learning to brace well was heavily influence by working with Brian Weissman on his approach (The Method) which clued me in to the full importance of the rear side. Teaser: I was not quite thinking about the motion of the rear hip enough and in my throw and my coaching I haven't addressed that yet. My rear hip and my momentum as a whole tends to get too stuck behind the brace. This was an over reaction to the usual too much spin out beyond the brace. Some new cues from another coach (Lee) involved with developing The Method have made me rethink the rear hip again and I think I'm on track to finally have a throw I'm proud of that is not too far towards either end of being out of balance... update incoming!
