I am Der Geher and today I am walking through the district of Langenhorn. Tangstedter Landstraße with a few stores leads to Langehorner Markt. North through a residential area and along Eberhofweg back to the market place. After the subway, the path leads north again through more residential areas and ends at Kastanienplatz. The mayor of Hamburg at that time acquired Langehorn in 1332. Since then, the area has been continuously owned by the city. Again and again the area was fought over. For example by the Danish King Christian IV during the Thirty Years War in 1627 or by Napoleon in 1806. Since then Langenhorn grew steadily and more and more buildings, churches and details were added. Today, about 46,000 inhabitants live here.
