Toward the end of the interview, he reflects on his relationships with the justices of the Supreme Court of Virginia when he was appointed in 1961, his workflow and opinion-writing process, the creation of the Office of the Executive Secretary (court administrator), and the appointments of the first African American and women justices to the court.
