Germany's Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture, CEM OEZDEMIR, has praised the growing cooperation between Zambia and Germany, particularly in the agriculture sector. Mr OZDEMIR says enhanced collaboration between two countries will help in transferring technological advanced for improved Zambia’s food systems. Mr. OZDEMIR noted that Germany’s support to the Agriculture Knowledge Training Centre –AKTC- at the Golden Valley Agriculture Research Trust –GART- in Chisamba district has helped more women to venture in agricultural production. Speaking when he toured the training centre, Mr. OZDEMIR emphasied the vital role of women in transforming the agricultural landscape, stating that their involvement is essential to the sector’s growth. And GART Director Dr. MARTIN MYUNDA says there is need to promote farming practices that are resilient among farmers in order to improve their production and productivity. Dr. MUYUNDA has since thanked the German government for supporting GART in implementing various programs that seeks to develop the sector.
