Where to Eat in Chiang Mai, Thailand 🇹🇭 Best Restaurant in Chiang Mai 🇹🇭 Thailand Street Food One of my favorite things to do, when arriving in a new city, is find some of the best Michelin rated food at an affordable price. When visiting Chiang Mai, there are many Kao Soi restaurants with a Michelin rating. But, in this episode I’m going to show you some traditional Northern Thai cuisine, which has also been given a Michelin rating, but not Kao Soi. The first place we visited was Krua Phech Doi Ngam. This traditional Northern Thai restaurant has some amazing dishes, some of which is influenced by neighboring countries of Burma and Laos. If you want to eat something other than Kao Soi, than this restaurant is a place you’ll want to visit. The second location we visited is Sanpakoi Kanomjeen (ขนมจีนสันป่าข่อย). Now this is where the locals go. This restaurant by far has been some of the best curries in Chiang Mai. They serve these curries with kanomjeen, which is a fermented rice noodle that has a good flavor that blends well with the curries. The prices are very affordable, and the owners are very nice. If you want to try traditional Northern Thai noodles and curry, this is a must try location. Finally for dessert, we went to Rotee Pa Day. This is the highlight of my Chiang Mai Michelin Food Tour! I love rotee (roti) and the owner of this street cart makes the best I’ve ever had. The dough is light, clean and crisp. They only add salt and water to the flour mixture to create this amazing puffy roti. Also, when cooking on the large skillet, they use coconut oil, versus the traditional butter used in other roti stalls. If you are a fan of roti, this is a must try location when visiting Chiang Mai. Thank you for watching and be sure to hit that like button. Also, I’d love to hear what you thought of the episode. So please feel free to leave a comment below.
