From Fredericksburg to Emporia: A day on the RF&P & A-Line! July 31, 2016

It was an overcast and humid Sunday morning, and I had the day off from work. With no other plans, I started my day in Fredericksburg with manifest train Q300. Sunday's tend to be pretty slow trackside, so I decided to make the most of it and jump around to a few different spots. After departing Fredericksburg, I made a stop at Milford for a couple of late Amtrak trains, including the Silver Meteor and Auto Train, as well as intermodal train Q140. One more stop on the RF&P at Elmont for manifest Q416, and I heard Florence Dispatch mention he had a handful of Southbound's leaving Richmond, so I set my sights on the small town of Stony Creek on the A-Line for those trains. What I didn't expect was to shoot all 4 of them within a 30 minute time period! After that bout of trains, I continued south, ending up at Emporia for a couple of trains before returning north to the Collier area for the rest of the evening, featuring a near over/under with intermodal 236 and the southbound Auto Train!
