CIDER HOUSE SOCK MODIFICATION DETAILS: 1) Knit one size larger than you normally would (ex: I am a size medium, so I knit the size large). Work this larger size for the cuff, leg, and heel. When you are decreasing to shape the gusset, follow the decrease instructions in the pattern to get down to the stitch count for your NORMAL size). 2) Knit the leg of the sock ONLY on US size 2 (2.75 mm) needles. Knit the cuff, heel flap, heel turn, gusset, foot, and toe on US size 1 (2.25 mm) needles. 3) When you finish the leg, discontinue the cable pattern. Knit the remainder of the sock in stockinette. 4) Instead of knitting a striped cuff followed by a solid color for the rest of the sock, try a fade with speckled yarns! *Some of the items listed above are affiliate links.
