Beacon Island hotel is home to the old whaling station, and a modern hotel designed after the Guggenheim museum. History is everywhere and one great story about a stranded ship and poison pepper gas is fascinating. The food everywhere along Central Beach is fantastic, but we went for the seafood platter for two and were very happy with our choice.
