Vegas Man Accepts Guilty Plea For Attacking Judge in Court

Deobra Redden, the Vegas man who attacked a judge in January 2024, took a guilty plea mid-trial after both the judge, Mary Kay Holthus and her law clerk, Michael Lasso testified. Redden admitted to attempting to choke Holthus and used force against her, attempting to murder her. Redden still faces sentencing. Redden's defense attorneys argued that he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, which allegedly caused him to lunge at the judge after he failed to take his medication.
