Worn limit switch brushes put a big fat asterisk on my repair of an almost 19-year-old Gen.1 Pontiac Fiero headlight motor that was running the battery down because it would not shut off even when the headlights were closed. I'll need to get a good limit switch assembly and install it in the motor before I can call this one completely repaired. The knob is still twitching and clicking for a few seconds after the motor raises and lowers the headlights. But at least there's not that barely audible "tick-tick" that was a sure sign that the motor was not shutting off. In the three days the car was parked before I shot the end of this video, the battery did not run down. I'll also have to start haunting the salvage yards -- the '84-'86 Fiero passenger side motor is the same as the '82-'86 Firebird driver's side motor, and vice versa. Gotta love that GM parts bin.
