Mouth organ mbuat — Bunong — Mondulkiri The mouth organ is one of the oldest instruments in the Southeast Asian. This one (mbuat) has six bamboo pipes distributed four above and two below, each one with a free reed bamboo or brass. The reeds are trapped in a calabash used as a room air distribution. The pipes are hold to the gourd with wax. Each tube is pierced by a small hole the musician close to allow the reed to vibrate. It is an instrument of entertainment. Mr Yue M'bra is one of the last players. © Patrick Kersalé 2016 Orgue à bouche — Bunong — Mondulkiri L’orgue à bouche compte parmi les instruments les plus anciens du sud-est asiatique. Celui-ci (mbuat) comporte 6 tuyaux de bambou répartis 4 en haut et 2 en bas, chacun muni d’une anche libre en bambou ou en laiton. Les anches sont emprisonnées dans une calebasse faisant office de chambre de distribution d’air. Les tuyaux sont fixés à la calebasse par de la cire. Chaque tube est percé d’un petit orifice que le musicien bouche pour mettre l’anche en vibration. Il s’agit d’un instrument de divertissement. M.
