Is My 19th Century Scottish Highlands Cottage Haunted? Do You Hear "The Hum"?

You buy a 19th century cottage in the Far North of the Scottish Highlands. You move in and hear a mysterious hum with no physical source. Is it haunted? The short answer is that yes, my cottage in the Highlands absolutely is haunted. It was built at the end of the Little Ice Age; many, many people have come and gone through the house over the centuries, and there have been at least a couple of deaths on the property (plus at least one birth). But is that a bad thing? Just because a place is haunted doesn't mean you're in any danger. The first time I saw the house, I felt instantly at home; the property has a very loving, warm embrace, and it may just be that people don't feel like they want to leave after their time is done. I'd never encountered it until moving up here, but now it's constantly present. It's a very deep bass rumble, like a huge diesel engine idling on the other side of the wall just out of sight. Do you hear it as well? In this episode we also go sightseeing in central Sutherland, visiting Crask, Loch Meadie, and Broch Dun Dornaigil on the Ben Hope road out of Altnaharra.
