WeighMyRack filmed Stefano Codazzi from Climbing Technology at the Outdoor shoe in Munich talking about their new 2020 line of Berry quickdraws which incorporate a clean-nose wiregate for the rope side of the draw and a solid gate for the upper carabiner. The clean-nose carabiner utilizes Black Diamond's technology that used to be found in the Hoodwire, Livewire, and Oz carabiners. But now that Black Diamond has discontinued those products, Climbing Technology has licensed the tech and incorporated it into the new Berry quickdraws, calling it Free Gate technology. The 'draws will also utilized CT's FIXIT sling keeper to prevent crossloading. They'll be available with 3 different width slings, an 11mm dyneema, a straight 16mm nylon, and a variable width (16-25mm) nylon. The Dyneema and 16mm straight nylon versions will come in 3 lengths, 12mm, 17mm, and 22mm. The Variable width nylon version (called the Nylon Pro) will only come in 12cm and 17cm lengths. The Dyneema version will also come in 2 different colorways and all 3 versions will be available as singles or in pack of 6. Availability is scheduled for spring/summer 2020 but with Covid-19 hitting Italy particularly hard, and Climbing Technology is located very near the northern Italy cities of Bergamo and Milan, delivery may be delayed.
