Our guest musicians have arrived in Chicago safe and sound and cannot wait to meet everyone at our Island Rhythm event on Saturday, February 7. Here’s a small sample of a few tunes from the island of Mykonos, performed by Yanni Asimomitis (tsabouna) and Maria Asimomitis (toumbaki). Join us, Saturday February 7, for another amazing musical journey, courtesy of our guest musicians from Greece—particularly from the islands of Tzia (Kea) and Mykonos. Making their U.S. debut from the island of Kea (Tzia) are Dimitris Zoulos (violin) and Vasilis Kozadinos (laouto). In addition, we have the pleasure of welcoming back to Chicago, all the way form Mykonos, the talented brother-and-sister duo Yanni Asimomitis (tsabouna) and Maria Asimomitis (toumbaki).
