Quiet and calm away from the hustle and bustle of the city, a little village Hulhundu stands majestically on high land of the region of Chotanagpur on the State highway from Ranchi to Chaibasa. The Sacred Heart School story began in 1962, when two zealous nuns Sr. Jean Francois and Sr. Stanislas belonging to the Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary Congregation came from the Head Quarters at Amritsar (Punjab) to Ranchi with the idea of laying the foundation of what is today a very flourishing and well known educational institution. Sr. Mechtilda and Sr. Ivonne (and Sr. Alberta) arrived on 22nd February 1962. They surveyed the surroundings on which today stands the Convent of our Lady of Fatima. This barren piece of land, 14 km from Ranchi, had only shrubs and three thatched huts, one of which served as a convent for the Sisters. They were later joined by two daughters of the Soil, Sr. Vimala and Sr. Thomasina.... Sr. Josephin Xaxa Sr. Josephin Xaxa is a native of Jharkhand. She belongs to the order of Sister of Charity of Jesus and Mary. After completing her studies, she served different educational Institutions in Jharkhand. She takes keen interest in the all round development of her students. She joined Sacred Heart School in 2012 as an assistant teacher for one year and on 15th April 2013 she is appointed as the Vice Principal and took charge as Principal in 2019. Sr. Josephine believes that education is comprehensive and it represents a broad spectrum of thinking and practice. It cannot be confined within classrooms or textbooks. Social reality is to be interwoven with the most existing education system, as it is the most powerful medium of self-transformation and the resultant social transformation. She is convinced that a country�s future depends upon its people and it is education that shapes him/her to be a man or woman of character. She along with the staff and students of Sacred Heart strive to materialize the same through the mission of education.
