In the remote village of Bubisa, Marsabit County, a quiet revolution is underway. Through the Supporting Community-Led Response (sclr) approach funded by Vitol Foundation and Irish Aid through Oxfam, local communities are taking the lead in building lasting solutions. They've built a school, provided desks and meals for children, and ended open defecation by constructing proper toilets. But perhaps most inspiring is the story of the Bubisa Single Mothers Group, a group of widows and single mothers who came together, launched a roof-thatching business, and transformed their place in society. Once marginalized, these women are now respected, heard, and central to their community’s progress. This is community-led change. This is dignity restored. This is Bubisa Rising.
