In this video, we go on an exciting journey through the ancient and impressive Bayon Temple and the mysterious Gate of Death. Our adventure starts with a funny but a little strange moment when a curious little monkey decides to check Louisa’s feet! 🐒 He tries to open her shoe with his cold little hands. We are unsure what he wanted, but it definitely made us laugh and started the day in a fun way. After stepping back from our playful little friend, we continue exploring the beautiful Bayon Temple complex. The Bayon is famous for its large stone faces carved into the temple towers and stands out as one of the most well-known and stunning temples in Cambodia. The serenity of the site makes the experience even more amazing. The detailed carvings, massive stone structures, and surrounding jungle create a magical atmosphere. Next, we find the famous Gate of Death — an ancient entrance with a spooky carved face on top. The gate stands tall and mysterious, full of history and legends. Even though it has a scary name, the gate is actually very beautiful, with detailed stonework and a haunting presence that captures our imagination. The gate is part of the larger Angkor Thom complex, and walking through it feels like stepping into another world. What is remarkable is how quiet and peaceful the area is. Aside from a few other visitors and a local guide, the site is nearly empty — making it feel like we have stumbled upon a hidden treasure. The surrounding nature adds to the magical ambiance, with trees growing through the ruins and clouds moving above the large stone faces.
