If Today Was Your Last Day, Would You Live Differently? | Walk for Peace

If today were your last day… would you live differently? On the Walk for Peace journey, we learn something simple but powerful: no one can walk even one more mile on the promise of “tomorrow.” Because tomorrow is never guaranteed. In this video, we reflect on impermanence—the truth that we cannot know when, where, or how death will come, and we cannot know with certainty where rebirth may lead. To deepen that reflection, I share a timeless story from the Buddha’s time: the young weaver’s daughter who answered, “I don’t know,” and “I know,” in a way that left the whole assembly confused—until her wisdom revealed a sharp truth. We may know we will die… but we do not know when. So what can we do? We return to the only certainty we have: this present moment. One breath before we react. One mindful step. One gentle choice to avoid harm, do good, and purify the mind. Walk for Peace is not only a journey across roads—it’s a practice of walking back to awareness, again and again, right here, right now.
