A4 Parclo is the BEST Roundabout Interchange Design

Workshop link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile... Continuing my series on service interchanges, this video is about a A4 Partial Cloverleaf that uses roundabouts. It is based on the one between N249 and D160 in Cholet, France. I included a diagram comparing the number of conflict points between this A4 parclo and other common roundabout service interchange design: the A2 parclo and the diamond. It shows the advantages of this design: less conflict points and free-flow movements from the arterial to the highway (meaning no traffic backing up into the city). I measured the capacity of this interchange using the same method that for my previous video on the Anaheim A2 Parclo. I captured several videos of 2 minutes under heavy traffic and manually counted the number of vehicles exiting the interchange. I didn't take into account the through movements on the highway as they are not restricted by the design. I then took the highest value as the capacity. This time I couldn’t come up with a theoretical capacity as my traffic flow model only apply to signal controlled intersections, not to roundabouts.
