Cindy Williams - On this special episode of The Jim Masters Show LIVE entertainment, lifestyle, celebrity talk series, celebrity friends and guests join award winning television, radio, multimedia personality and host Jim Masters as we celebrate the extraordinary life and career of beloved television, film, stage actress and producer Cindy Williams. Cindy Williams was best known for her role as Shirley Feeney on Laverne & Shirley, the icon 1970s, 1980s sitcom series on ABC. Join us Tracy Reiner, daughter of iconic actress Penny Marshall who played Laverne on Laverne & Shirley, also niece to legendary filmmaker and television producer Garry Marshall joins us, along with famed actor and producer Bruce Kimmel who knew Cindy for over 60 years and who worked with Cindy several films and TV shows including; The Creature that Wasn't Nice, The First Nudie Musicials and on The Donny and Marie Show. Award-winning composer, writer, lyricist, singer Dan Goggin, who created the iconic and beloved off-Broadway music Nunsense, also joins us to share his memories of casting and workin with Cindy over the years. Actress, writer and producer Elaine Ballace also joins us on this tribute episode of the show as she shares her memories of Cindy Williams. Plus we reveal a special pieces of artwork created by multi talented and award winning illustrator Glen Hanson which he shares exclusively with us in tribute to Cindy Williams, Penny Marshall and the Laverne & Shirley series. Plus a few surprises, amazing photos, conversations and more during this heartwarming tribute episode our series. Cindy Williams. Born in Van Nuys, California, Cindy first became interested in acting during high school (where she performed with Sally Field!). After graduation, she attended L.A. City College where she majored in Theater Arts. After leaving college, she landed her first television roles on Room 222, Nanny And The Professor and Love, American Style. Cindy’s stage credits include, among other productions, the national tour of Grease playing Miss Lynch, the national tour of Deathtrap with Elliot Gould, The Female Odd Couple with Joanne Worley, Steel Magnolias as Ouiser Boudreaux and, in 2007, she made her Broadway debut in the role of Mrs. Tottendale in the award- winning musical The Drowsy Chaperon. She also appeared as Rev. Mother Mary Regina in Nunsense and Nunset Boulevard; The Nunsense Hollywood Bowl Show. Cindy enjoyed the privilege of working with extraordinary directors in great films. Her first film was for Roger Corman in GAS-S-S-S with Talia Shire and Ben Vereen. She appeared in Travels With My Aunt with Maggie Smith, directed by George Cukor, and The Conversation with Gene Hackman, directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Next she co-starred with Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss and Harrison Ford in American Grafitti directed by George Lucas, a low-budget film that went on to become a box office smash and film classic.
