They protect not only from heat loss, but also from sounds entering your living space and from water vapour transmission into cold attic voids - leading to rotting timber in the long run. If all is fitting neatly and you prefer to have your Thermahood adhered to the ceiling, then take the cover off and apply water based adhesive around the rim of the Thermahood. Insulation can be fitted up to and over the Thermahood.
