Restoring A Broken Saucepan Handle - Make Do And Mend

We've had this milk pan for nearly 30 years, and over time, the handle has experienced a bit of scorching and wear, to the point where it just became so wobbly that the pan was unusable - trying to tighten it just stripped the thread on the bolt, so lets remake the whole handle. The original handle was teak, but I am going to replace it with oak. Interestingly, this pan is 'Prestige Lifetime' brand, which I think probably means I could send it off for free repair or replacement under the lifetime guarantee, but honestly, I can't be bothered - and anyway they would probably just throw it away and replace it with one of the new 'lifetime' models that have plastic handles. So let's make do and mend.
