This is a video to demonstrate the Ural 650 Electric guitar, which is a Soviet made electric guitar from the 70's. It is certainly different and very cool, it is a Fender based design heavily inspired by Japanese guitars of the 60's. Produced in Sverdlovsk between the early 70's and early 90's, it is the mainstay of Soviet guitar production and was one of the most, if not the most popular model. It is not as crazy or bizarre as some would like you to believe, just a low to mid quality level electric guitar from the 70's with a unique switching arrangement, very similar to what you would see on guitars from Germany, Italy, Sweden or Japan during this era. It certainly is not comparable to a Fender or a Gibson, but then again not much is! I hope this video will be interesting to watch for those of you passionate about Soviet music gear. Even if you are not it might be interesting to get to know a guitar that is very different to what we are used to today. Enjoy!
