I have the Sling 2.0 grip attached backwards due to the fact that I use it without a tripod, and attached backwards it acts as a tiny point of contact, not allowing the gimbal to rock with a heavy load attached. You can use the the recommended way, or my way, both work. Gimbals nowadays are all pretty similar in what they can do, there are very small details that differ between them. The Weebill 3 is a gimbal that can keep up with the likes of the DJI Ronin series, the RS 3 Pro being $340 more expensive may be able to handle a heavier payload, but at the end of the day most of us are using mirrorless cameras and the Weebill 3 can easily handle a large lens and a mirrorless camera, and be on par, or even smoother than the RS 3 Pro.
