This video discusses the application process and requirements for prospective MS and PhD students. Here are some helpful links that were discussed in the video: Clemson Graduate School English Language Test Scores: https://www.clemson.edu/science/acade... Clemson Automotive Engineering Faculty Profiles: https://www.clemson.edu/cecas/departm... For PhD applicants: The video mentions how the process is analogous to applying for a job, since PhD positions are funded. Unfortunately, there simply aren't enough funded openings compared to the number of applicants, and, just like when applying for a job, when you reach out to faculty, there is a strong likelihood that you won't even get a response. Note: this situation is not specific to Clemson - It is true for any job that you apply for at a university or company. The best thing that you can do is send emails to several faculty members to increase your chances (anyone who you would be interested in working with), follow up with each faculty member about two time spaced out by at least a week, and if you still don't get a response, I'm sorry to say that there must not be any openings. You are welcome to try other schools or try again in future years. If you have the ability to join our department as a master's student, that greatly improves your chances of getting a PhD position later because it removes the time pressure from the situation and it allows you and the faculty member to develop a personal relationship which, just like when applying for a job, is more likely to result in a successful match. Even if you aren't able to find a PhD advisor during your MS degree, having an MS degree from our program greatly improves your attractiveness to potential PhD advisors at other departments within Clemson or at other universities.
