I wrote this song in March 2021. There are times in my life that I do not understand exactly what God is doing or why He’s doing it. It’s during times like these that we have to stop striving and just surrender. The process of growing is painful…it’s never easy. But growth is necessary; it’s necessary for us to get to where we’re supposed to be, and without it we won’t get there. It’s a process of learning to trust the One who made us, because after all, He did make us and knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows when we lie down and wake up, He knows every word before we even speak it, and He knows the number of hairs on our heads…He knows what will make you smile, and He knows what will bring you down to your knees, again. He will only let us come to our knees in surrendered prayer, so that we can find Him, because once we do find Him, He promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us…He is with us always. We are never alone. Trust. Surrender. You’ll make it home. “And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
