Khasab is nicknamed as " Norway of Arabia". It is located in Musandam Peninsula in Oman and is a small ity when compared to nearby cities in UAE. Khasab is surrounded by mountains of western Hajar Range. It is popular for dhow cruise accross the natural, dry fjords. Date trees are cultivated in the city. Khasab is nearly 500 km away from Muuscat, the capital city of Oman and the sea journey takes 05 to 06 hours to reach between the two cities in depending on the sea conditions. We visited Khasab from Muscat by the high speed modern ferry " Hormuz " during mid September 2010. It was a nice 06 hour sailing on the sea in one way. We went for a dhow Cruise and watched dolphins on Khasab sea. Khasab coastal road is very nicely laid road along the sea and it leads to UAE. We visited Bukha fort on Khasab coastal road. When we visited Khasab Lulu hyper market was under construction. Late Sultan Qaboos had donated his royal yachet by name " Loaloat Al Behar " to Oman tourism for sea cruise tours and it was berthed in Khasab port. We got an opportunity to visit inside this yachet and it's interior was very nice. Camera used : Panasonic Model LX3 and JVC Everio 30GB HD Camcorder.
