Four Canadian made-for-television Detective William Murdoch (of the Toronto Constabulary) films, broadcast on Bravo under the umbrella title, ‘Murder 19C: Detective Murdoch Mysteries’: ‘Except The Dying’, broadcast on 13 May 2004. The film is about the discovery of the naked body of a young chambermaid apparently murdered in a back alley. William’s boss, Inspector Brackenreid, decides this is an accidental death, but William feels there's more to the situation at hand and, as he digs deeper into the death, discovers there is something more sinister going on. Furthermore, her autopsy reveals she was pregnant and had opium in her system, which makes William even more suspicious of her death.
