J.S.Bach - PASSACAGLIA and FUGUE in C MINOR (BWV 582)

In this video you can hear my rendition of J.S.Bach''s “Passacaglia and fugue in C minor (BWV 582)” played on my Hauptwerk organ. I have chosen to use the sample set of Rotterdam, created by Sonus Paradisi. A Passacaglia or a Ciaconne has been always been one of my favourite kind composition type. It's mostly associated with a musical work of variations usually on a ground bass in moderately slow triple time. Luckily for me the very best of these Passacaglia is the one by J.S.Bach. Written in C minor it is a stern work but also rich and powerful. Robert Schumann described Bach's Passacaglia as "intertwined so ingeniously that one can never cease to be amazed".
