Made a better version of this: • How To Make Almost Any Computer Faster (An... This is something that needs its own video at some point but windows and Linux both suck. Shocker. But my recommendations are to use the oldest version of windows that works with your hardware and not update it. Because the one constant that consistently breaks pcs is updates that make your pc slower and more limited for: “your own security.” Security from what? Yourself. In other words, making your pc slower and more inefficient with clunky software and updates to make you think your pc sucks, when in reality you can just use an older version of windows or use Linux mint or deepin os and your pc will run a lot faster. The best windows versions I’ve found are atlas os and windows 10 ameliorated 1903. Although windows 10 doesn’t exactly work on my 2010 mac or my steam deck so I use windows 8 on mac and the default steam os on my steam deck since that seems to just work without issue and valve doesn’t seem to slow it down any, although I wouldn’t put it past them eventually because they’re going to do more hardware seeing how successful the deck has been. Steamos won’t solve anything because it’s the same thing as windows 8 in practice. Big menus with nothing on them and literally just a discount windows desktop ui underneath the big picture game mode ui. So nothing different basically. Even included the terrible hidden menus with barely anything in them. So if it’s just a placebo choice where you’re stuck with the windows ui and software either way, then use older windows updates or versions with a lot of disabled processes you aren't using on it by going to the services and disabling them and you’ll have a better experience. Plus Microsoft stole and pirated their own operating system in the dead of night and ran an illegally obtained PlayStation 2 emulator copy of tomb raider as their pitch for the original xbox. So if you’re worried about Microsoft being upset with you about piracy, then don’t be. Because they do it too. They’re not beholden to the same restrictions they impose on you and me. So if they don’t take their own rules seriously, then neither should you. Xbox Power On, it’s a 6 part documentary about how they made and eventually messed up the Xbox. Good watch, it’s here on YouTube, and I recommend it if you’re interested, because they do a good job of showing how far they've fallen. If the illusion of freedom makes you feel any better with Linux, then use Linux mint or deepin os. Both have the windows ui but are just on Ubuntu, which is probably where you want to be on Linux because it’s the most popular and most reliable version as a result. If you just want windows ui but can’t run windows or don’t want to, then those are good alternatives. The performance and functionality of Linux is about on par with windows like 70%, so not much better, but Linux has its uses. And thankfully it doesn’t give me massive input lag issues like windows 10 does. But if your pc is running fine and you have no issues, or otherwise very little issues: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. What you should worry more about is your pc eventually being made artificially obsolete by terrible software optimization and big banners that just say you can't use the software (likely due to the drms and spywares they put in there). There's no reason other than making more money that you can't run almost any game nowadays on windows xp, vista, 7, and 8. It's trickery made to make you think your pc isn't as good as it is disguised as "upgrades." And childish peer pressure bullying tactics from big companies who aren't your friends. Steam is probably one of the worst offenders out there, but if no one's gonna say it, I will. Give me a list gaben! Every pc is different so do some research and find out what your hardware supports. Hope this helps, anyway take care. I’m getting a cheeseburger. #microsoft #halopc #halo #halomcc #windows10 #windows #linux #steam #windows8
