Kusasi Sound System was born out of a desire to revive and share one of the most powerful forms of cultural expression: the sound system. More than just music, it’s a tool for social connection, a grassroots movement with the power to break barriers and reshape how we experience leisure and community. The collective began in 2008 in Esplugues de Llobregat under the name Wiggle Yard Sound, but it wasn’t until 2016 that they built their own system — Kusasi Sound System — the result of years of dedication and self-managed effort. Today, the crew is made up of Gero Brooks, Berbal Error, Payball, Stur-less Paw, and Jr Buda — six selectors and vinyl collectors brought together by a shared love for Jamaican music. Their mission is to build a solid, deep, and representative collection spanning from the 1960s to the present, with a special focus on emerging Jamaican productions.
