Rotterdam, a city that immediately captivated us with its bold, futuristic architecture like the Cube Houses and the majestic Erasmus Bridge—a true testament to modern design and urban renewal. From this vibrant, innovative port city, we took a swift, scenic train ride north, transitioning completely into the quintessential charm of Amsterdam. There, we spent our days wandering along the peaceful, crooked canals, cycling through historic neighborhoods, and embracing the cozy atmosphere of the narrow, gabled houses. The contrast between Rotterdam’s modern energy and Amsterdam’s Golden Age elegance was striking. Finally, it was time to leave the Netherlands.
