Follow 802 https://linktr.ee/802band In his former life, Andreas Asingh aka Slowolf was one of the most critically acclaimed electronic artists in Denmark, working with international artists like Raekwon of The Wu-Tang Clan while touring the world. Eventually, life took Asingh back to his roots in the countryside of Djursland, Denmark In late 2022, Asingh meets Emil Sørensen and Kristian Holbæk. Two young dudes from the local heavy metal scene were not the obvious creative match with Asingh, however, a strong musical connection came to life. Together they form 802 and quickly create a distinctive sound, blending ghostly synths, catchy hooks, and progressive drum beats with heavy metal distortion. Their debut show at The New Colossus Festival in NYC in March 2023 is a great success, coinciding with the release of their first single, ‘My Girl’ premiered on BrooklynVegan accompanied by the short film ‘A Heavy Metal Bedtime Story’ directed by Casper Balslev (MØ, Iggy Pop) that gets nominated for a UK Music Video Award. The band follow up with their second single ’22 (Velvet Vampire)’ in November 2023, which comes with the short film, ‘The Curse Of The Velvet Vampire’ winning ‘Best International Short’ at the A Night Of Horror International Film Festival in the USA. 802’s third single ‘1986’ is released in May 2024 marks a significant milestone as the band plays legendary festivals like Copenhell and Roskilde Festival and also they play live on Danish national TV show ‘Go Morgen Danmark’ These performances further solidifies their presence and showcasing their innovative blend of genres to a wider audience. 802’s music reflects a thrilling collision of genres, drawing on influences from shoegaze to heavy metal, creating a sound that is both refreshing and nostalgic. With their engaging, energetic performances and innovative sound, 802 is quickly establishing themselves as a pioneering force in the alternative scene.
