Fifth day of Protests in Lafayette Square in Washington DC

I haven't been to downtown DC or taken the metro in 3 months as I've been trying to social distance as much as I can. Today, after a few days of seeing all the negativity going on, I decided to venture out into the heart of the DC protests at Lafayette Square, perhaps against my better judgement, to see what is going on with my own eyes as everyone is trying to portray their own narrative. As I'm not the most vocal person when it comes to these things, I figured I can do my part and help amplify the message from those who are. I walked the entire protest multiple times from end to end. For the entire 3 hours, I did not see rioting, looting, or violence. However, I did see people offering prayers, people giving out hand sanitizer, people handing out water & food (I was very tempted), and people simply voicing their concerns over why #BlackLivesMatter. While I do not doubt there is rioting & looting going on, what I saw myself and participated in, was a peaceful protest, that is all. Please don't let the small percentage of looters and bad apples confound your judgement of the bigger movement. Oh yeah, please don't @ me.
