Date filmed: 24/02/2023 Videos filmed at: 13:22 | 13:32 Route: Birmingham to Peterborough Line Between Peterborough and Stamford Stations Crossing type: Automatic Half Barrier Crossing (AHBC) Location: Tallington Road, Bainton Trains featured: Lowering 1 (0:00): Class 66 (GBRf) - 0:35 Hams Hall GBRf ➡ Felixstowe North GBRf - Lowering 2 (1:21): Class 66 (DB Cargo UK) - 2:00 East Midlands Gateway Terminal DBC ➡ Felixstowe Central DBC A pair of intermodal freight trains, both heading towards Felixstowe, are seen passing this rural half barrier level crossing in the village of Bainton near to the border between Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. The only recent change here was in late 2021 - early 2022 when the barriers were renewed from Mk.1 twin-arm half barriers to more modern single-arm variants, but the wigwags / road traffic lights, and alarms were not changed. The entry-side wigwags are now on separate supporting masts, rather than the same assemblies that had the barriers. The road here sees a moderate amount of traffic given that its the most reasonable route between the villages around and including Helpston and Tallington, due to the one-way system at King Street. Thanks for watching!
