The FuelSOME Project webinar #2 focuses on the modelling and assessment of multi-fuel pathways for maritime Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) applications using the Multi Fuel Pathway Explorer (MFPE) tool developed within the project.During the session, participants are introduced to the structure, modelling approach, and methodology of the MFPE, a modular open-source Python library designed to evaluate alternative fuel pathways for maritime energy systems. The tool enables the analysis of key components across the fuel supply chain and supports integrated assessment of different fuel options.The webinar also presents techno-economic and well-to-wake (W2W) performance results for hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol fuel pathways through a detailed case study based on the Port of Rotterdam. Through this case study, the MFPE demonstrates how advanced modelling approaches can be used to compare fuel pathways and identify viable strategies for low-emission maritime energy supply.By showcasing the MFPE framework and its analytical capabilities, the webinar provides valuable insights into how component-level modelling and system analysis can support strategic decision-making for scalable, efficient, and sustainable maritime fuel supply systems.
