Speaker Introduction : Dr. Mallika Kumar is a senior faculty with a teaching experience of 28 years. She is the Coordinator for the Office of International Programmes at SRCC and Coordinator for Cultural Council,University of Delhi. She completed the Professional Development Course at Harvard University on ‘Managing yourself and leading others’. She has been a member of UNDP Microfinance Solution Exchange and London School of Economics also been member of the Committee for London School of Economics( LSE) India Summit 2016 , Curated by Difficult Dialogue and The LSE South Asia Centre.She is also associated with International Cooperative Alliance Asia Pacific (ICA-AP)Youth Committee for promotion of Cooperative Business model amongst the youth.Her area of specialization include Micro Finance and Financial Cooperatives. She received her Ph.d from JMI, New Delhi and her work has emphasized on the Rural Financial Cooperatives at National, State, District & Local level in India & a comparative analysis of Cooperatives in India & in the Global context. She was appointed as Expert by Apex organization, National Cooperative Union of India(NCUI) for APJ Abdul Kalam Azad Scholarship 2017-18 for Research in Cooperatives in India. She has been a Team member as an Expert & Advisor for the evaluation of Central Sector Integrated Scheme on Agriculture Cooperation (CSISAC), undertaken by the AFC, Ministry of Agriculture. She is associated with Saksham, a society that work for visually impaired and plays Sitar in her free time. She’s a facilitator, connector, and encourager who believes with positivity and passion anything is possible. Lecture Outline: The lecture would focus on the What Why How about Elinor Ostrom. -Why did I choose EO/ Why she received the Nobel Prize -What is Ostroms’s law /What were her proposed eight ways to solve the tragedy of commons and achieve successful management of common pool resources (CPRs). -How we take her learnings forward in our teachings and life. In brief, her life, intellectual journey,influences,contribution and applications.
