Next video will be about content! How to make the algorithm like you and how I don't burn out! Almost exact transcript: I spent 400 thousand dollars to learn these lessons and I’m sharing it here so you don’t have to. Goa morning everyone, I’m Goa, your neighborhood parking lot seagull. Since it’s the beginning of 2025 and I’ve been seeing new year's resolutions about wanting to become a professional content creator, or generally monetizing somewhat off of online based hobbies, I’m here to give some advice as someone who despite producing a lot of non linear content, which is not in the favor of algorithms, still gets substantial reach and lots of opportunities to work with big name companies. Most of my knowledge will be based on photo based social media and cosplays so if that’s what you are interested subscribe and hopefully this series will be useful to you. First things first, I still notice a lot of people using hashtags, especially generic hashtags hoping that it will get their posts more traction. Hashtags on platforms like Instagram are basically dead. Unless you specifically look into a hashtag, such as a campaign hashtag to track its performance or to categorize and organize, hashtags are not being pushed like they used to be. Instead, think about how you personally use the app when you post. For example, if you are looking for something you might search up the key words in the search box, such as indie vtuber cosplay, it’s unlikely for you to search #indievtubercosplay, so why would the average user? As a search engine, there is a higher priority and relevance to show content containing certain keywords rather than hashtags. Anyone that is familiar with copywriting and marketing would be able to recognize the abbreviation SEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimization. This means adding in relevant keywords in the title, or captions to make your content more searchable. Here you may think, well why would my content pop up when I’m competing with all these other big name content creators that are using the same key words? Well here’s where your niche comes in. You can try incorporating low volume niche keywords, low volume meaning less used, so you are “competing” with less content for less traffic. Here you may wonder, what if I want big traffic? As sad as it is, the content landscape is so saturated with generic and buzz wordy content that it's so hard to compete as a small creator starting out. Using low volume niche keywords might bring you a more valuable audience that would stick around longer and more suitable for your content if they are already actively looking for content in these low volume niches. Don’t be sad because you are not getting crazy traffic, rather be happy to have an audience that is genuinely curious and interested in your niche and what you have to offer. Don’t compete with people who are already succeeding, established, and gifted, it’s basically fighting on someone else's turf, instead look for something that only you can offer, and you are good at and excel from there. I hope these tips are helpful for you, and subscribe for more videos like this in the future! Bye bye and have a Goa day!
