Jeudi 24 octobre 2024 : une après-midi au Cirm consacrée à Maryam Mirzakhani, dans le cadre de l'école mathématique et informatique pour lycéennes, Les Cigales Elle a révolutionné un pan entier de la géométrie, fait émerger des idées nouvelles en assemblant - comme un puzzle - des morceaux mathématiques qui semblaient éloignés, à travers son génie et son destin incroyables elle est aujourd’hui sans doute la mathématicienne la plus inspirante et un modèle pour toutes les jeunes femmes qui rêvent de sciences. Elle a obtenu le graal suprême – la Médaille Fields - en 2014, il y a 10 ans et le Cirm lui consacre une grande exposition (avec Anton Zorich et Jayadev Athreya), associée à des événements de diffusion. Au programme : 14h30 - 15h30 : allocution sur les liens entre la science et société par Aurélie Biancarelli, adjointe au Maire de Marseille en charge de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche 15h45 - 16H45 : Projection du film de George Csicsery « Secrets of the Surface » 17h - 17h30 : Échanges en live depuis Oakland (Californie) avec George Csicsery, réalisateur du film « Secrets of the Surface » et de 35 autres documentaires et films. 17h30 - 18h30 : Exposé sur « Les mondes mathématiques de Maryam Mirzakhani » par Pascal Hubert et Jayadev Athreya Thursday 24 October 2024: an afternoon dedicated to Maryam Mirzakhani She revolutionised a whole area of geometry, bringing out new ideas by putting together - like a puzzle - mathematical pieces that seemed far apart. Through her incredible genius and destiny, she is today without doubt the most inspiring mathematician and a role model for all young women who dream of science. She was awarded the ultimate grail - the Fields Medal - in 2014, 10 years ago, and the Cirm is dedicating a major exhibition to her (with Anton Zorich and Jayadev Athreya), combined with outreach events.
