In this lecture, I have discussed about the Kennedy's classification and the Applegate's Rules, for partially edentulous arches. Classifying the partially edentulous arches according to Kennedy's classification, helps us to formulate a treatment plan for the patient in order to make a removable partial denture. Kennedy's classification also helps in better communication between dental professionals because it helps to instantly visualization the state of an edentulous arch. There are four different classes of partially edentulous states, as stated in the Kennedy's classification. And I have explained them all in this lecture. Applegate's rules, on the other hand, allow us to better understand the Kennedy's classification. Not only that, Applegate's rules better explain the implementation of the Kennedy's classification in our every day lives. Like when we are faced with multiple partially edentulous states, etc. There are 8 Applegate's Rule which I have explained in this lecture one by one.
