Freedom Dancing monkeys or topeng monyet in local term has long history in Indonesia. It was known as traditional performance especially in Java Island. Behind what so called performance, there are animal abuse. The monkeys have been tortured in several ways in order to be able to perform. Apart from the cruelty of this street performance, the monkeys posed a health risk. They weren’t vaccinated, and carried diseases that can spread to humans, notably tuberculosis. Nowadays, there are many efforts done by animal rights activist to stop this cruelty and to raise community awareness that monkeys has right to live in their natural habitat, in the jungle not in the street. This video tried to describe that monkeys is God's creature, they have right to live as free as human being, not in the hand of the people whom torturing them.
