Autumn Woodland Walk at Chiltern Open Air Museum - Discover an Iron Age Roundhouse and Rustic Barn

Chiltern Open Air Museum has extensive woodlands at its site on the Buckinghamshire & Hertfordshire border. We took a walk through part of the woodlands that can currently be explored by visitors to the Museum. Enjoy this relaxing wander through the trees with no narration. We know that not everyone is able to visit in person – whether that’s due to distance, mobility challenges, or other reasons. That’s why we’ve created a calming video walk through our woodlands, designed to bring the experience to you, wherever you are. It’s a chance to enjoy the sights and sounds of our beautiful trees from home or from a more accessible space. It’s just one of the ways we’re working to make the wellbeing benefits of nature available to everyone. Over the coming months, we’ll begin a major programme of work to reopen all of our woodland paths to the public. Diseased trees will be carefully felled, and in their place, we’ll plant a new generation of native species – including oak, beech, hornbeam, field maple, wild cherry, horse chestnut, wild service, yew, juniper, and even disease-resistant elm.
