Part 1 of this video series is the complete Book I of The Philosophic Dwellings. This video, Part 2 of The Philosophic Dwellings video, begins at the start of Book II. Part II of Les Demeures Philosophales by the enigmatic Fulcanelli, explores alchemical symbolism in European architecture, focusing on Gothic cathedrals and symbolic structures as repositories of secret alchemical knowledge. Originally published in French in the early 20th century and later translated into English by Christopher Templesage. This is a brand new translation. The book argues these edifices encode the transformative philosophies of alchemy. Fulcanelli, whose real identity remains unknown, presents an intersection of mysticism and art, suggesting a hidden language in architectural forms. The work includes illustrations by Julien Champagne and a foreword by Eugène Canseliet (for the first time in the public domain) , Fulcanelli’s disciple, enhancing the narrative with visual and historical insights into alchemical symbols. Essential for those interested in alchemy, art history, and mysticism, The Philosophic Dwellings or "Les Demeures Philosophales" reveals the hidden meaning in architecture.
