When straight Alex, a medical doctor, meets Miranda's old friend, free-spirited Pandora who has just returned to Melbourne, Alex is immediately attracted to her and briefly toys with the idea of having an intimate relationship with a woman. Alex seeks relationship advice from her friend Gabrielle and is surprised to learn of Gabrielle's own sexual fluidity. Meanwhile Evan, Alex's housemate, who has a big crush on Alex, is deriving vicarious pleasure from watching the sexual tension between Alex and Pandora and begins to tease Alex about it. At the same time usually fun loving Miranda is having relationship woes having found out that her long-term boyfriend has had sex with her friend Simon. Alex (Claudia Karvan), Miranda (Abi Tucker) and Gabrielle (Sibylla Budd) and Kelly (Deborah Mailman) are all lead female characters in the 2001 Australian TV show The Secret Life of Us while Susie Porter who plays Pandora made a guest appearance in just this one episode.
